My first race since giving birth, Sawyer eats solids, and our first family vacation

This weekend we took our first family vacation to Colorado Springs. It was awesome. I also ran my first race since being pregnant -- the Garden of the Gods 10 miler (for those of you who don't know, I like running long distance races as a hobby) -- and when we got home this afternoon we had our first family meal together, with Sawyer trying his first rice cereal. Lots of things happening!

I could write more about how Sawyer was too tired to really try his cereal (read he was crying and I was spooning it into his mouth) and how at the hotel room he had a little trouble acclimating to the hotel (read he freaked out being in a hotel room with new smells, sounds, and sights) -- but why bother? This weekend was great and goes down in the Harris book as a top notch family vacation. In the road of life there will be uphills --but the downhills and scenery make it all worth it.
