Everyday when I get home from work, Sawyer and Sadie are there to greet me. Sawyer is not usually excited to see me but is REALLY excited to see Sadie freak out that I am home from work. And Sadie is not really freaking out because I am home and she wants to see me -- she is going nuts because I come home right at her dinner time.
Here is the scenario: I walk in, Sadie is already in doggie freak out mode from hearing me pull into the driveway, Sawyer is there either being held by the nanny or crawling on the floor while laughing hysterically at the dog freaking out. I then feed Sadie and lock her on the stairway so that Sawyer can't get to her. At the same time, I give Sawyer a teething biscuit or cracker to nibble on. He then crawls over to where Sadie is eating and watches her eat.
You would think that would be the end of it, but no. This is actually when it gets good. Sawyer then usually holds out his cracker to share with Sadie. He takes a bite and then holds it out for her to take a bite. At first, when he started doing this, Sadie would pull the whole cracker out of his hand and eat it. Now, Sawyer has figured out that if he holds on to it tight enough, Sadie won't be able to get it as fast. This goes on for about 5 minutes or so and is one of the best parts of my daily routine.
