Over the last few weeks life has been CRAZY. Let me give you the run down of the first two weeks of February 2011: work has been crazy; I had my first night away from my son for a business trip; first hospital stay for Sawyer and parents; first birthday party with Mom's potato salad; and first time for me to be able to keep it all together in the line of fire. In the end, life vs. mom - mommy wins. But, I don't like it -- can somebody let my life know? Mommy no like.
First off, let's tackle the big ones -- Sawyer was in the hospital this last weekend with RSV. He is doing great now and is at home with oxygen. He is so (as Aunt Katie would say) stinkin cute -- trying to walk with his oxygen tubes connected to his temples. Long story short -- Sawyer is doing great but his parents are still reeling from the experience. Jess and I were just talking -- we don't need to win the lottery -- but it would be awesome to win one night of complete sleep!
Second: Sawyer had his first birthday party! Hooray! It was an indoor party at the Wheatridge Rec Center. We had a blast. Check out the funny video below.
Third: I made my Mom's potato salad for Sawyer's b-day party (including all the other food -- I know, crazy). The potato salad is always awesome but takes my whole life to complete. Suffice to write, next year we are having a pizza party from Domino's!
Fourth and fifth: I had my first business trip and work has been nuts. But what can you do? Learn great coping skills. Mine has been running and it helps SO much. Hopefully I will be able to schedule some more runs in.
That's it! Enjoy the video!
